In the movie THE ENEMY BELOW (the movie that the ST:TOS episode "Balance of Terror" was based on) the German U-Boat commander was reminiscing. Watching the evolution of space warships will be interesting as well. Is it going to be like WWI aircraft? That is, rickety ships with a few crude weapons bolted on as afterthoughts, flown by a few aces who are familiar with the eccentricities of their craft? (Imagine a Space 1999 Eagle Transporter as a futuristic "Sopwith Camel") Or will it be more sophisticated? The flip side to that is your ability to punish stupid play (e.g., getting cits on a CA or BB player showing broadside) is diminished at the lower tiers.and does not get as readily rewarded (via more pens and cits) until the mid to high tiers. What's its going to be when space combat finally arrives? In general, the punishment you get for playing poorly increases significantly as you move up the tiers. And the really big time smacks occur at top tier. Although you can still get a cit or a det at the early tiers, the big time smack downs typically don't start to occur until the mid tiers. Just not as badly or as quickly as in the uppper tiers. CAs still need to be cautious.as showing a broadside can still get 'em punished. They do this with dispersion, especially with the BB mains. WG has also designed a lot slop at the low tiers. Their damage is less and their penetration ability is less.

I'm using dynamic reticle.Īlso T3 BBs are using 12 inchers. Practice and experience!ĭo your numbers refer to overall, or just BBs? My hit rate in Tier III BBs is 25%, though I seem to throw an awful lot of big shells at DDs that of course do nothing. It'll all be on the players skill and on as level playing field as possible, so learn to do it with out mods. there are mods that can provide this critical information but do be aware that they are very UN-likely to be allowed in sanctioned competitive play. Other factors are how fast you perceive a ship to be moving, the aspect of the target and if they are moving closer, or further way.

Over time you'll discover that your fine adjustments for lead do change from ship to ship. There are some very good You Tube video's there on gunnery specific subjects, and making those little correctional adjustments. a littl easier to work with once you get used to it as the sight adjusts to the how far your zoomed in or out on the target. change your aim to between 9 to 12 seconds of lead.Īlternatively use "Dynamic" cross hairs sight which in incremented for 30 knot targets. Fixed sights are set up for targets moving at 20 knots.each notch on the gun sight represents 1 second of lead.typically on crusiers with standard sight you have to double the lead if it's 6 seconds to the target for your shells.
